The Bearded Talisman's Tour Championship Bets

Below are The Bearded Talisman's bets for the PGA Tour Championship this weekend at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Georgia

1) Rory McIlroy to WIN Without Scottie Scheffler (+550, 1 unit) - Has fallen under the radar a bit given what Scottie has done, but Rory has 9 Top 10s in 2025 and has 3 in his last 4 events.  He plays this course very well historically and he appears to be in good shape physically, especially after getting an extra week of rest after sitting out Memphis.   So many of the top players this year have regressed (Morikawa, Cantlay, Spieth, Clark - heck Xander didn’t even make it to East Lake) and others have slumped as the year has progressed (Aberg, Matsuyama, JT).   Take away Scottie, and this tournament is Rory’s to win, and probably by a wide margin. 

2) Victor Hovland to WIN Without Scottie Scheffler (20-1, 1/2 unit) - One of 4 golfers at the BMW to shoot all four rounds in the 60s (Scottie, Burns, Fleetwood), and easily could have finished better than T-7th with better course management. Hovy will not have any course management issues this week - as we know from his win in 2023 he plays very well at East Lake.   He will be in contention on Sunday, and if for some reason Rory sputters, Victor is the likely guy to take the FedEx Cup....without Scottie Scheffler.
